This four-bedroom replacement dwelling reinterprets traditional vernacular forms through a contemporary architectural approach.
The house is constructed using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), a high-performance building system comprising rigid insulation sandwiched between structural boards. This method of construction provides excellent thermal efficiency, airtightness and structural strength, while enabling the building’s shell to be erected in less than a fortnight.
Simple, contemporary fenestration complements the building’s understated form, creating a refined balance between traditional vernacular character and modern detailing. The result is an energy-efficient home that combines familiar architectural references with the benefits of modern construction technology.
