This contemporary two-storey rear extension transforms a cottage, replacing a cramped and dark lean-to kitchen with a generous kitchen and double-height dining area, with glazed doors opening onto the garden. On the first floor an additional bedroom overlooks the dining area, and has a projecting feature window seat providing a place to enjoy the rural views.

Clad in brimstone ash above a rendered plinth, the extension establishes a contemporary contrast with the original cottage.
